Good Medicine

May 18, 2009

I’m working on a new idea for an artwork and hope you will spare a few moments to participate. The concept is ‘a pill for every ill’. It’s about what we do as human beings to make ourselves feel better when we aren’t at our physical or emotional best (stressed, tired, down, anxious, poor physical health etc). I want to explore the ways we ‘self medicate’, metaphorically speaking.

I don’t want to restrict this to my own limited perspective. I’d like to incorporate a range of coping mechanisms that reflect the individual differences between people – different pills for different ills. To achieve this I would like to collate the opinions from a cross section of people.

This is where you come in. Responses can be as lighthearted or as deep and meaningful as you like. In fact, a mixture would be ideal.  What’s your good medicine?

  1. Good medicine. Well, music seems to have a positive effect on me. The cat’s good for de-stressing, too, and thankfully her hourly rates are very reasonable.

  2. […] do or use to make themselves feel better or well or happy. Give it some thought and leave a comment on this post. Responses can be as deep or as shallow as you want. So long as they’re honest. […]
